Arsenal transfer round-up: Gunners prepare Houssem Aouar bid, Lazio name price for attacker

Arsenal are set for a busy summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to rebuild his side.

The Gunners missed out on European qualification last term for the first time in 25 years as a club and will be looking to bounce back from this disappointment.

Arteta will have had transfer targets in mind ahead of the summer window opening, with one of those likely to be Brighton’s Ben White.

Arsenal are already working hard to secure the services of the Seagulls defender and will be looking to strike a deal for the talented 23-year-old.

Arsenal are plotting a £20m move for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The Gunners saw a £30m bid rejected last year for the 22-year-old midfielder, with the French club valuing their star man at close to £55m.

But Lyon are understood to have lowered their asking price for Aouar having missed out on Champions League football last campaign and are looking to cash in this summer, according to the Sun.

Speaking ahead of Lyon’s last game of the 20/21 season, Aouar admitted: “This could be my last game for the club.”

Arsenal enter Onana talks

Arsenal have officially entered talks with Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, who has one year remaining on his current contract.

Onana was handed a 12-month doping ban back in February, though this was recently reduced to nine months – meaning he’ll be able to play competitive football again from November.

The Cameroonian shot-stopper has played over 200 games for Ajax and would be an experienced back-up option, available at a price believed to be in the region of £7m.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has made clear that a potential deal is progressing, as he told the Here We Go podcast :

“They are in touch with the agent. They like the player, he’s a serious opportunity but it’s not advanced or closed yet.

“Arsenal will talk with people close to Onana, with his agent, to understand the situation. But, it’s not done yet.”

Lazio are not prepared to accept any offers lower than €30m (£25m) for forward Joaquin Correa this summer.

The Argentine attacker has reportedly caught the eye of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur after impressing in Serie A.

Arsenal are claimed to have seen a €20m (£17m) bid for Correa knocked back this summer and will have to up their offer to have any chance of securing a deal.

Italian publication La Repubblica have claimed that Lazio will not consider bids below €30m this summer, as they look to earn as much as possible for the 26-year-old star.
