Nicholas Pepe has shaken off speculation linking him with leaving the Gunners during the January transfer window.

Mikel Arteta trimmed his squad rather dramatically during the course of the month as 13 players departed the Emirates Stadium.

But despite the exodus of players, Pepe remained at the club despite being linked with a return to France amid interest from Marseille and Lyon – and the winger has now sent a message to fans which hints at his intentions for the future.

It comes after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made his Barcelona debut with his Arsenal loyalties on full display.

And Bruno Guimaraes has explained why he chose to join Newcastle United over Arsenal.

Aubameyang’s Barca debut

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made his Barcelona debut over the weekend following his January transfer deadline day move from Arsenal.

Aubameyang departed the Emirates after becoming ostracised under Mikel Arteta following his disciplinary breach in December which led to him being stripped of the captain’s armband, made to train alone and left out of the side’s matchday squads.

But his old Arsenal loyalties were on full display as he made his debut for his new side as they beat Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid 4-2 on Sunday.

Bruno Guimaraes explains snub

New Newcastle United signing Bruno Guimaraes has explained his decision to move to the club over Arsenal during the January transfer window.

The Brazilian midfielder signed for Eddie Howe’s side in a £40million deal despite reported interest from the Gunners.

He’s now spoken about his move for the first time and, in a brutal put-down of Mikel Arteta’s side, told what attracted him to St James’ Park.

The midfielder praised the ambition the club has under its new Saudi-led ownership as he hinted there may be more chances of winning silverware for the Magpies than had he moved to London.

Nicholas Pepe has sent a two-word message to Arsenal fans about his future.

The £72million record signing has struggled to hold down a place in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI and has been linked with leaving in recent times.

Lyon and Marseille were both reported to be following the player’s situation at Arsenal with interest amid reports the player was assessing his options during the January transfer window.

But the Ivory Coast star needed just two words to show his intent to do well for Arsenal between now and the end of the season.
