Lacazette admits exit talks

Alexandre Lacazette has admitted his agent has been considering his next club.

The France striker has struggled for regular minutes this season and with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign, he is free to agree a pre-contract with an overseas club ahead of a free transfer in the summer.

The 30-year-old was asked about his situation after the Newcastle win and he was candid in his assessment of the situation.

“Of course, my agents are starting to look to the right and to the left,” he said. “But not until January, I really want to focus myself on something.

“And then we will see what is on offer, if the challenges are interesting, if there are beautiful projects, how they are counting on me.”

Arteta still keen to bring back Wenger

Arteta made it clear after the clash with Newcastle that he remains keen on bringing Arsene Wenger back to the club.

The Frenchman is regarded as one of the finest managers of the Premier League era, having steered the Gunners to three top-flight titles and seven FA Cup wins.

He left Arsenal in 2018, although Arteta has made it abundantly clear he would like to have the 72-year-old involved in north London in some capacity.

“What I’m saying is that I think he would enjoy to see a little bit more around,” he said.”I know he needed the space but just being around and having the feeling of how much people love him, I think it would be great for him.

Fabregas praise for Martinelli

After a blistering start to his Arsenal career, Martinelli has struggled with form and fitness over the past year.

So those in attendance at the Emirates Stadium were obviously delighted to see the young Brazilian back among the goals, as he can add an exciting new dynamic to the team when he’s on top form.

Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas was also impressed with the forward’s efforts on Saturday, as he netted with his first touch off the bench. “What a goal,” said the Spain international on Twitter. “Really difficult finish.”
