Former Manchester United and Barcelona star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has admitted that he is “scared” to retire after opening up on his desire to extend his AC Milan contract.
The imperious Swede is still going strong at 41-years-old having scored six goals and contributed two assists in nine Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri.
Stefano Pioli’s side are currently on course to win their first Scudetto since 2011.
Ibrahimovic’s goals, leadership, and creativity have played a huge role in their strong start to the season.
And it appears Ibrahimovic’s hunger has not withered, as the mercurial striker said he wants to commit to another season with the Serie A giants.

“I want to play as long as possible. As long as I have that adrenaline, I will continue,” Ibrahimovic told the Italian talk show Che Tempo Che Fa, via Sky Sports News.
“I don’t know what will happen after football, so I am a little scared to stop. We’ll see, but I want to continue playing so that I don’t have any regrets.”
Ibrahimovic’s has enjoyed an illustrious playing career since making his professional debut for Malmo in 1999.
He has since gone on to play for a host of European giants, amassing 570 career goals, including over 500 at club level.
As well as Malmo, he has played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and LA Galaxy.
His one and a half seasons at the Red Devils is his only experience in the Premier League.
He was signed on a free transfer by then manager Jose Mourinho and played a key role in the Reds winning the League Cup and the Europa League.
The Swedish star also scored seventeen goals and contributed five assists in 28 Premier League appearances, as well as hammering home five goals and four assists in eleven Europa League matches.
Unfortunately, his season was cut short by a nasty knee ligament injury he suffered during a Europa League match against Anderlecht.
He returned from injury way ahead of his initially anticipated schedule, the following campaign, but he only made five Premier League appearances before moving to LA Galaxy in March.
Many believed his move to America would be the final chapter of a spectacular career which has seen him win League titles in France, Spain, and Italy, as well as a variety of different domestic cups.
But he sealed a sensational return to AC Milan in the 2020 January transfer window, and has not looked back since.
Since returning to the Rossoneri, he has scored 31 Serie A goals in 46 matches under Pioli.
And it appears Ibrahimovic is far from ready from hanging up his boots, as he stated his desire to sign another new contract with the Italian giants.
“Let’s put pressure on Milan here to give me an extension and I hope to stay at Milan for life,” Ibrahimovic added.
“I still have objectives that I can achieve and I want to win another Scudetto.”
