The defender, 23, joined AC Milan on loan in January, before making his move permanent in the summer.

He has quickly become a key player at San Siro, and provided a big moment for them tonight.

Tomori swept home from a corner to give Milan the lead over Liverpool in the Champions League this evening.

And in doing so, he became just the third Englishman to score in the competition against a Premier League club for a non-English team.

Patrick Roberts was the first to do so, when he scored for Celtic against parent club Manchester City in 2016.

Jude Bellingham then became the second earlier this year, when he also netted against City for Borussia Dortmund.

Unfortunately for Tomori, his goal was quickly cancelled out by Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side drew level in the 36th minute, when Mo Salah converted the rebound after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was denied by Mike Maignan.

Milan went into the match needing a win to try and usurp Porto and head through to the knockout stages.

Porto faced Atletico Madrid elsewhere, with all three teams having a chance of joining Liverpool in the round of 16.
