Tigre president says ‘everything suggests’ Milan target Retegui will be sold this summer

Tigre president Ezequiel Melarana has dropped a huge hint about the future of AC Milan-linked striker Mateo Retegui who is a target for lots of Italian clubs.

Melarana was speaking during an interview with Tyc Sports in Argentina (via Calciomercato.it) when he was asked what he knows about the future of the player that is on loan from Boca Juniors.

Tigre are going to become 50% owners of Retegui for €2.4 million at the end of the season but given all of the interest in his services from Europe, Tigre know that they will not actually be keeping him, as Melarana explains. They will just be financially involved in the sale.

“Everything suggests that Retegui will be sold in June. There are several interested clubs in Europe. Once the operation with Boca is closed, we will buy 50% of his card and we will be partners in the operation,” Melarana explained.

Milan are one of many teams that would like to sign the player that was picked by Roberto Mancini for the Italy squad in the last international break.

He scored twice, once against England and once against Malta, which only heightened the interest in him.
