Arteta gives Arsenal team news before Everton clash

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will not be happy after his side’s last-gasp loss to Everton on Monday night.

Demarai Gray secured Everton’s win as his spectacular effort from outside the box flew in off the post in the second minute of added time.

Arsenal had taken the lead at Goodison Park thanks to Martin Odegaard but collapsed in the second half as two late goals consigned them to defeat.

Indeed, it could have been worse, but for two marginal offsides – given by VAR – that ruled out two Everton goals from Richarlison.

Arteta is bound to be making plans for improvements, with one potential target, Renato Sanches, seemingly keen to move ahead of the January transfer window.

Everton stun the Gunners

Arsenal failed to hold on to their first-half lead as they fell to a late 2-1 loss to Everton at Goodison Park.

Goals from Richarlison and Demari Gray secured the win for the home side as the Gunners lost ground in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Wenger’s Aubameyang comments

Arsenal’s captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang only had a matter of minutes to try and turn around his ailing form against Everton on Monday night.

The Gunners forward came on late in the second half and once again failed to score as his struggles this season continued.

It’s a far cry from when the Gabon international signed for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger, who heaped plenty of praise on the striker when he rocked up to the Emirates Stadium.

And Arsenal fans should be very concerned about his demise.

Transfer target sends message

Renato Sanches has talked directly about Arsenal’s interest in signing him.

The Portugues international has impressed at Ligue 1 outfit Lille and helped the side to winning the French title last season.

With his contract up at the end of next season, he has now been linked with Arsenal as well as the likes of AC Milan.

And it’s quite clear there’s one move he’d prefer.
