Rebic returns with a bang for Milan and puts Juventus in his firing line

Despite a dramatic and entertaining ending that worked in AC Milan’s favour, yesterday’s win against Empoli was overshadowed by the three new injuries. It’s not all doom and gloom, though, as Ante Rebic returned with a bang.

The Croatian winger set foot on the pitch for the first time since August after struggling with a few injuries. He replaced Olivier Giroud and boy did he respond in the best way possible, scoring the opener for Milan in the 79th minute.

To make matters even better, he assisted Rafael Leao for the third goal and also was a real pain for the Empoli defence in the final minutes. In short, Rebic returned with a bang and amidst all the bad injury news, this was certainly a needed positive for Stefano Pioli.

Rebic still isn’t 100% condition-wise but it’s likely that he will get some minutes against Chelsea mid-week as well. And against Juventus, he might even shoot for a starting spot as he loves to play against the Bianconeri.

In fact, he has four goals and one assist against Juventus in seven games. The only club he has scored more against is another Turin-based side, namely Torino, against whom he has five goals and two assists.

While he will have to bit cautious, so to avoid the hernia returning, Rebic has his eyes set on especially the game against Juventus. He wants to help the team at all costs and he got off to a perfect start on Saturday evening, adding to his already positive tally for the season (three games, three goals, one assist).
