Promising striker set for new loan as Milan will exercise buy-back

Lorenzo Colombo spent this past season on loan at Lecce and did quite well, given that it was his first full season in the top flight. As a result, AC Milan have decided to keep him but a new loan is looming.

Colombo signed for Lecce last summer and managed to find the back of the net six times, assisting an additional two goals. Notably, he scored a screamer away at Napoli and that game ended 1-1, while also scoring the penalty that kept Lecce from relegation.

In short, he showed enough this season to prove himself to the Milan management, who will exercise the €3.5m buy-back clause in his deal, as per Daniele Longo. Lecce are set to pay €2.5m for the buy-out, meaning they will make a small profit.

As Longo adds, Colombo will be sent out on loan again next season and that makes a lot of sense, especially since Milan are working on signing a new striker. The 21-year-old needs all the playing time he can get and it remains to be seen where he will end up.
