AC Milan director Paolo Maldini is beginning to think about extending the contract of Rade Krunic given his immense versatility, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com recalls how the Bosnia international has shown that he can play as a midfielder in the double pivot, as an attacking midfielder and even as a left or right winger for Milan since his arrival, having displayed a willingness to adapt to Stefano Pioli’s needs.
It is no coincidence that his playing time has risen exponentially given the recent injury problems, and after being a third choice in most areas he has now become almost a permanent starter for Pioli, who has always used him in the Champions League (he missed the first two games with Liverpool and Atletico due to injury) and in Serie A.
Krunic will also be relied on in the match against Liverpool tomorrow, and because of his importance the Rossoneri are also evaluating another hypothesis: a renewal. It is clearly not an urgency given his contract expiring in 2024 and the priority goes to other more time sensitive situations, but Maldini and Massara are still evaluating the possibility of rewarding him by extending the deal for another season (thus bringing the deadline to 2025) and could open talks with his agent in the coming weeks.
