Pioli explains how absences of Kjaer and Ibrahimovic have helped Milan grow

Despite being without their most experienced players for a chunk of the season, AC Milan are close to clinching the Scudetto. In fact, as Stefano Pioli explained today, the absences have helped them in a way.

Simon Kjaer has been out with an injury since the start of December and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has struggled with injuries all season. In spite of this, Milan are now just one point from clinching the Scudetto, in need of a draw tomorrow.

Speaking at the usual press conference today, which you can read in full here, Pioli shared his thoughts on how the absences have helped Milan grow. There’s no doubt that they have been missed, but it has also helped in a way.

“I think that the testimony of my boys’ growth is given above all by the long-lasting absences of Zlatan and Simon. The team has lost two important references in the dressing room. Many have grown while making up for their absence. In this period, the team has certainly grown a lot “.

Milan’s clash with Sassuolo is scheduled at 18:00 CEST tomorrow and there will be 18k Rossoneri fans present at Mapei Stadium. It will feel like a home game, therefore, and hopefully they will get the job done.
