AC Milan

Pellegatti analyses Milan’s ‘total nightmare’ against Sassuolo: “There is something wrong”

No AC Milan player deserves to be spared from criticism after a collective disaster of a performance against Sassuolo on Sunday, a journalist has claimed.

Milan suffered their first home league defeat of the season as they were beaten 3-1 by Sassuolo at San Siro on Sunday afternoon. Romagnoli gave the hosts the lead with a header from a corner, but Gianluca Scamacca levelled and a Simon Kjaer own-goal, gave them the lead while Domenico Berardi’s second half goal essentially killed the game before Romagnoli saw red.

It marks the first time that Milan have conceded 7 goals or more in two consecutive league games since March 1998, when they lost 0-3 against Inter and 1-4 against Juventus, meaning there are some obvious worried that must be fixed.

Carlo Pellegatti posted on his YouTube channel to analyse Milan’s defeat against Sassuolo and he did not hold back on his criticism of how the team played, especially after taking a lead midway through the first half.

“Milan’s match against Sassuolo was a total nightmare and no Rossoneri player deserves a pass. After the goal of Romagnoli’s advantage, this match seemed directed towards a victory that would not even be complicated, but then disaster,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Scamacca’s equaliser came after Bakayoko’s mistake. Milan completely disbanded and they got the second goal with Kjaer’s unlucky own-goal. In the second half they did better and also scored the third goal.

“What happened I don’t know and I have no idea. It was too easy for Sassuolo to dominate the match after drawing level. What worries me now is not the ranking but the performance, you have to see how the team comes out of this shock. When all the players don’t perform, there is something wrong.”
