AC Milan

Pazzini previews Milan-Tottenham and assures Rossoneri are ‘completely different’ from Atletico knockout

AC Milan will be up against Tottenham in the round of 16 of the Champions League. A draw that the Rossoneri should be content with, as the former player Giampaolo Pazzini argues.

Pazzini played for Milan between 2012 and 2015, bagging 24 goals in the process (86 appearances). He was appreciated by the fans for his hard work on the pitch and also, of course, for his ability to find the back of the net.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Pazzini shared his thoughts on Milan’s upcoming clashes against Tottenham. He believes that it will be a tight game as the two teams know each other’s secrets well.

“It could have been worse, but Tottenham are a good team. It’s certainly a good test for Milan. Tottenham have two forwards, Kane and Son, who can hurt you at any moment.

“Conte? He certainly has an advantage, having faced the Rossoneri with Inter in decisive matches for the Scudetto. But it will also be an advantage for Milan and Pioli, who know Conte’s football. In short, two teams with few secrets will face each other. For this reason, it will be a balanced game.

“Milan will face Tottenham with the enthusiasm that has distinguished them for three seasons now, but also with the quality of their football. Because they are a team that plays well.”

Pazzini was part of the team that faced Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 back in 2014, losing the legs 0-1 and 1-4 respectively. He assured that Milan are completely different now, with a project for the future and not a declining one.

“They are two completely different stories. That was a Milan at the end of the cycle, we switched managers less than a month before the first leg, going from Allegri to Seedorf. We were in trouble. This is a young Milan, with a clear and winning project, given that they have the Scudetto on their chest,” he concluded.
