ML: The probable lineups in Milan vs. Real Madrid

After drawing against Nice and Valencia, AC Milan will now have to raise the bar, as they are set to face Real Madrid in a friendly match tomorrow in Austria.

But how will both teams line up from 18:30 CEST at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt?

Gazzetta dello Sport predicted this morning that coach Stefano Pioli was set to experiment against the Los Blancos, however, according to Milanlive.it, the impression is that the manager will field a similar formation to the last matches, thus playing a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Mike Maignan is expected to start in goal, while the ‘typical’ back four, Calabria, Tomori, Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez, will play in front of him.

In the midfield, Kessie and Bennacer are still out and it is thus expected that Tonali and Pobega will once again be the holding midfielders, although earlier today there were reports that Pioli is considering starting Krunic instead of the latter.

In the attack, meanwhile, Milan is set to line up in full strength, obviously without Ibrahimovic, who is still out with an injury. Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Rebic are set to support Olivier Giroud.

Milan’s probable XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Romagnoli, T. Hernandez; Tonali, Pobega (Krunic); Saelemaekers, B. Diaz, Rebic; Giroud.

Real Madrid are also dealing with some absences and will have to deal with the likes of Kroos, Mendy, Hazard, Ceballos or Odriozola, as well as Asensio, who played in the final of the Olympics today for Spain.

Thus, there could be room for Alaba, Modric and Benzema in the starting line-up, as they have returned from their extra holidays after featuring at the European championship, as well as for Isco, who is targeted by Milan.

Real Madrid’s probable XI (4-3-3): Courtois; Nacho, Varane, Alaba, Marcelo; Valverde, Modric, Isco; L. Vazquez, Benzema, Rodrygo.
