AC Milan

Milan, Spurs and Inter all keen on €30m-rated Bayer Leverkusen defender

AC Milan have been joined by rivals Inter and Napoli in registering interest in Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapié, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) this morning, Inter are keen on signing the 20-year-old Piero Hincapié who was a starter for Ecuador at the World Cup prior to their elimination in the group stage.

The Nerazzurri have put Hincapié in their sights for various reasons, the first being that their No.1 target Joško Gvardiol of RB Leipzig is now valued at around €80m and therefore a move to LaLiga or the Premier League seems to await.

Amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Milan Škriniar and Stefan de Vrij and with Francesco Acerbi on a loan from Lazio, they are in the market for a new centre-back and Hincapié is more affordable at €30m.

Tottenham are also keen on him, but the report adds that Milan and Napoli like the Leverkusen defender with the Rossoneri having chosen not to invest on a new centre-back after missing out on Sven Botman but having potentially postponed that investment for summer 2023.
