Milan set to sign new goalkeeper in February ahead of summer arrival

AC Milan are set to agree on the signing of Marco Sportiello from Atalanta in February with a view to the goalkeeper joining the club in the summer once the season has concluded, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri do not seem to be having any issues in acquiring a new goalkeeper to add more depth to the department for next season.

The club earmarked Sportiello as a possible signing recently and they have acted fast to reach a total agreement with the player before any other club can make any serious headway.

It is now reported that the signing will be finalised and likely announced in February 2023, with the player then becoming a Milan goalkeeper in the summer.

He will be the backup to Mike Maignan with Ciprian Tatarusanu expected to leave the club at the end of the season or fall further down the pecking order.
