AC Milan are trying to secure the renewal of Rafael Leao but there are a number of clubs interested in signing him, above all Chelsea.
According to Fabrizio Romano in his latest column for CaughtOffisde, Chelsea ‘will have their people there to monitoring’ Rafael Leao during the World Cup in Qatar to see how he does with the Portuguese national team. Graham Potter ‘has spoken highly of him’, and there was a verbal offer turned down towards the end of the summer window.
Romano adds that from Milan’s perspective they ‘have no intention to accept anything less than Rafael Leao’s release clause’ which is set at €150m, while they are also hoping that he extends his current deal.
The Rossoneri management are ‘pushing to try to extend the player’s contract’ with Paolo Maldini ‘trying and trying, having conversations with the player and his family’.
Chelsea and other clubs will continue to monitor him, so it will not be easy to reach an agreement over new terms.
