AC Milan

Milan negotiating final January exit with young centre-back almost certain to stay

After the signing of Marko Lazetic is announced AC Milan’s incoming market could well be closed, but there could yet be news on the outgoing front.

According to MilanNews, the management are still working on trimming the squad after Andrea Conti went to Sampdoria and Pietro Pellegri’s loan was terminated in advance. Samu Castillejo is no longer part of the plans of Stefano Pioli and the club and seems to have ‘resigned himself’ to the idea of leaving and has expressed his desire to return to Spain.

His future is now likely to be in LaLiga, and more specifically with Valencia, because the negotiation for a loan deal is well underway and Milan are working on including at least an option to buy as part of it.

Matteo Gabbia on the other hand should remain with Milan at least until the end of the season. Talks over the renewal of his contract have already started, especially if no new centre-back arrives this month.
