AC Milan have today been linked with a move for Lyon midfield Houssem Aouar who is out of contract at the end of the season, but another Serie A club are reportedly leading the race.
According to Footmercato, the Rossoneri management are big admirers of the quality of the player as well as his probable free agent status, while the midfielder wants to join a club with big ambitions. Milan are thinking about a move ‘very seriously’, so now we wait for concrete developments.
However, Calciomercato.com are reporting that Roma have an advantage in the race to sign the Lyon playmaker as they already held talks with both the agent of Aouar and his club last summer.
They are going to resume those negotiations ahead of the January transfer window, hoping to be able to give a ‘gift to José Mourinho’.
The most sizeable competition comes, as always, from the Premier League, who can offer the player much higher salaries than those offered by Italian clubs.
