As Hakan Calhanoglu decided not to renew his contract, joining city rivals Inter instead, Milan need to find a new playmaker. In addition to Brahim Diaz, they also have another Real Madrid-familiar name on their list.
According to Marca, the Rossoneri are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with the agent of James Rodriguez, Jorge Mendes. The idea is to sign the Colombian as the replacement for Calhanoglu, deemed the right profile for the club.
The contacts between the parties are frequent and there is even a plan to convince Everton: a fee of €10m plus bonuses for the 29-year-old. In the next few days, negotiations will the English side will begin.
Reaching an agreement with them shouldn’t be a problem for Milan, as the report continues. It remains to be seen if confirmations will arrive from Italy on the matter, but it would certainly be an interesting signing for the Rossoneri.
