Milan face roadblock as PSG and Spurs demand mandatory clause

AC Milan are looking to bolster their squad with a centre-back this summer and talks are underway with a few clubs. The Rossoneri keep facing the same problem, though, and that is the formula.

It’s widely known that the Rossoneri intend to spend as little as possible after paying €35m for Charles De Ketelaere. A loan deal for the defence is thus what they are aiming for, which isn’t always easy to achieve.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are in talks with PSG over Abdou Diallo and Tottenham over Japhet Tanganga. A loan seems possible for both but the Rossoneri have not been able to convince either club to accept a loan with an option to buy.

PSG and Spurs are adamant that it must be an obligation to buy instead, which not only locks in the payment but also registers it in the current fiscal year. Milan are thus facing a roadblock in their centre-back pursuit and it remains to be seen what the outcome will be.
