Milan continuing mission to protect young core with three more deals imminent

AC Milan are closing in on being able to announce three more key renewals as the mission of the management to armour the young core continues.

MilanNews reports that while there were no significant movements in January with regards to new signings, there was a lot of talk about contract extensions and protecting certain jewels for the future. Theo Hernandez was the latest to renew until 2026 at €4m net per season plus bonuses, after Alexis Saelemaekers, Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia did in the last few months.

The report adds that the announcement of Ismael Bennacer’s contract extension is imminent and the Algerian should soon sign a deal until 2026 with a pay rise to €3m net per season, with an official announcement expected in the next few hours.

Meanwhile, there is plenty of positivity about the renewal talks over Rafael Leao and Pierre Kalulu. The Portuguese winger could soon extend until 2026, earning the same amount as Theo Hernandez, while the French defender should earn a pay rise too.
