Milan aiming to win race for Salzburg striker by offering big pay rise

AC Milan have a plan in mind for if they decide to make a concrete move for Red Bull Salzburg star Noah Okafor, a report claims.

According to a report from InsideFutbol, Liverpool have been tracking Okafor and may well throw their hat into the ring to try and land the 22-year-old who has scored 7 goals in the league and 3 in the Champions League, including one against Milan.

They then cite newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport in claiming that Milan are in fact keen on signing the player who bagged against him and they are able to offer him a big pay rise in order to try and win the race.

Okafor is currently on a €1m net per season contract at Salzburg but Milan are prepared to double that to try and convince him as they look to add another talented young forward to a group that already has the likes of Rafael Leao, Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaere.

As well as Liverpool, Arsenal and Leeds United have been linked with a move for Okafor (via TEAMtalk). Of course, the obvious caveat to the Gazzetta report is that Premier League clubs can also easy double Okafor’s wages, if not triple or quadruple.
