The Frenchman has less than a year left on his current deal which means he is set to be a free agent next summer.

But it doesn’t seem like there is any sign of an extension coming his way, according to ESPN, with the striker technically allowed to talk to other clubs in January.

Arteta said back in April that Lacazette’s future would be resolved during the upcoming window, but with that firmly in the rearview mirror, it seems he has not kept his word.

Arsenal spent £150m in the transfer window with the likes of Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard and Takehiro Tomiyasu all arriving as part of the north London club’s rebuild.

The club handed contract extensions to the likes of Keiran Tierney and Emile Smith Rowe as they invested in their younger core, but no offer arrived on the table for Lacazette.

It was even reported that the Gunners were listening to offers for Lacazette as they looked to trim their wage bill.

Atletico Madrid were serious about making a move for the 30-year-old and could reignite their interest in January. Juventus, AC Milan and Sevilla are also monitoring his situation.

Lacazette has made just two substitute appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring in their Carabao Cup win over West Brom. His preparation for the new campaign was disrupted as he tested positive for Covid-19 after an outbreak in the London Colney camp.
