Midtjylland and Strasbourg midfielders on Milan’s list of targets

AC Milan have three names on their list as they continue to search for a new central midfielder amid worries over Sandro Tonali’s injury, according to a report.

According to MilanNews, Tonali sustained an issue with his left thigh flexor that he felt pull at the beginning of the second half of the friendly match against Vicenza but compared to 48 hours ago, the Italian did not feel pain and there is hope that it could be a simple over-stretching rather than a tear or anything more serious.

Whether he can be there against Udinese on Saturday in front of over 70,000 at San Siro to begin the new campaign is not yet known but even having him for the following weekend against Atalanta would be positive.

Now, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are at work to try and secure a midfielder reinforcement, and there are two names that stand out above all currently. The first is Raphael Onyedika (21) of FC Midtjylland and the second is Ibrahima Sissoko (24) of Strasbourg.

The report adds that the track leading to Davide Frattesi should not be definitively abandoned yet either, even if it is ‘complex on an economic level’.
