Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Aubemeyang lined up EXCLUSIVE, Cristiano Ronaldo ‘eating ALONE’, Frenkie de Jong boost


MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to rival Chelsea for the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, SunSport can reveal.

The Red Devils considered signing the former Arsenal captain in January and are now ready to launch a bid, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s sulky display at Brentford.

It is also claimed that Ronaldo often eats alone during training and has been openly questioning Erik ten Hag’s high pressing style.

But United have received a huge boost in their hunt for a midfielder.

Frenkie de Jong has reportedly told his Barcelona team-mates that he could still join Man Utd and is fuming with the way he has been treated in Catalonia.

The Red Devils are also said to be closing in on the signing of Adrien Rabiot, with the club’s recruitment said to have agreed terms with his mother and agent.

    Manchester United should have tried to land Everton signing Conor Coady to cover the shortfalls of Harry Maguire, claims Arsenal legend Paul Merson.

    Merson told Sky Sports: “They should have been going for Conor Coady, they need to play three at the back!

    “Maguire, I don’t want to keep going on, but Maguire can’t run. You need to play a five at the back.

    Bologna star Marko Arnautovic insists he is solely focused on his team after interest from Manchester United.

    Arnautovic, himself, addressed the bid in a press conference after the 2-1 loss to Lazio in which he scored.

    Arnautovic said“The market is the market.

    “I’ve been in the world of football for many years and I know there could be clubs interested during the transfer window, but now I am focused on Bologna”

  • Arnautovic to Juventus?

    Bologna star Marko Arnautovic has emerged as a shock target for Juventus after Manchester United pulled out of the race to sign him.

    Arnautovic was the subject of a £6.8million bid from United last week with manager Erik ten Hag keen to bolster his attack.

    But the Red Devils’ offer was knocked back with Bologna director Marco Di Viao insisting the striker is not for sale.

    Transfer guru Nicolo Schira now states how Juve sporting director Federico Cherubini has been in contact with Arnautovic’s agents.

    The Italian reporter has said the Austrian is seen as a potential replacement for on-loan striker Moise Kean.

    Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag ordered his players into Carrington for an EXTRA training session on Sunday.

    Ten Hag had the players run 13.8 kilometres (8.5 miles) – the difference in distance covered by Brentford in their Premier League thrashing.

    United were embarrassed by the Bees – who stunned the Dutch tactician’s side by racing into a 4-0 lead after just 35 minutes.

    The ex-Ajax manager was “horrified” by his team’s performance, and let them know that they had let everyone associated with the club down.

    And in a brutal interview with beIN Sports he slammed his players after the shocking defeat.

    Ten Hag said: “It’s quite clear. It’s rubbish. It’s poor and we need higher standards than that.

    “I can bring up several things but that looks like excuses. And that is not there in the top we have to deliver and we didn’t do”

  • United to sell Garner

    Manchester United have decided to sell James Garner before transfer deadline day.

    According to Manchester Evening News, United are keen to sell and value Garner between £15million and £20m.

    Nottingham Forest and Tottenham are interested in the midfielder, who is under contract until 2024.

    A Manchester United fan group named ‘MUST’ have called for a total boycott inside Old Trafford for their next match against rivals Liverpool.

    MUST believe that the Glazer family are the reason for the club’s poor results and are hoping to draw attention to their failures through a protest.

    Ten hag remains very interested in brining Ajax winger Antony to Old Trafford, having coached him in the Netherlands previously.

    When asked about whether Ten Hag had contacted him, Antony told NOS: “Will Ten Hag call me? No idea… he has to discuss this with my agents, I’m focused on here. What will come will come, we will see.”

    United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Adrien Rabiot following a series of discussions with his mother and agent Veronique Rabiot.

    She appeared to be asking for a significant increase in pay from his wage at Juventus.

    United’s director John Murtough was recently seen in Turin to meet Rabiot and agree personal terms.

    The transfer is reportedly worth around £14million for the 27-year-old and a deal doesn’t look too far away.
