Maignan expected to make Milan return in time for Serie A resumption

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is expected to be fit and ready for when Serie A resumes on January 4 after the World Cup, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the recovery of the French goalkeeper seems to be happening at a good rate and he is expected to play again in the new year.

Maignan suffered a serious injury before the World Cup and just as he got back to fitness, he suffered another one and was forced to miss the tournament and stay in Milan to work on his recovery.

The domestic football in many European countries begins again straight after the World Cup but Serie A will not resume until January 4, meaning there is plenty of time for him to recover.

If he has another relapse, Stefano Pioli will be forced to use Ciprian Tatarusanu in goal again when the play resumes for the Epiphany matches.
