Inter join Milan in pursuit of Genk midfielder who has been forced to train alone

AC Milan face competition in their pursuit of Genk midfielder Pierre Dwomoh, who has been banished to training alone by his club.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive) writes that Milan are not the only Serie A team who want the 17-year-old holding midfielder after some intense links over the past couple of weeks. Even their rivals Inter are thinking of the player and therefore a market derby could be unleashed for the Belgian talent.

Meanwhile, the report also cites Belgian source Het Belang van Limburg in claiming that Dwomoh is training alone at the moment. Last February he had an argument with Hans Somers, Genk’s U23 coach, and was dismissed from the team. Now he is trying to force his exit before his deal runs out in 2024.

The paper writes that there is a process called the “law of ’78” which means Dwomoh could be freed from his contract upon payment of a penalty equal to the residual salary due, but the entourage of the player have made it known that they do not want to go to any kind of court of law for their client to leave.
