Ibrahimovic ‘completely set’ on featuring for Sweden in the World Cup qualifiers

Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed plenty of games for Milan this past season due to injury and he’s currently recovering from knee surgery. Therefore, the following news will not make all of the Rossoneri fans happy.

According to SVT Sport, citing the reliable journalist Jennifer Wegerup, Ibrahimovic wants to continue in the Swedish national team. After missing out on the Euros, the striker is eager to help out in the World Cup qualifiers.

“Zlatan is, according to my sources close to him in Milan, completely set on getting back into action and playing for the national team again. Of course, it depends on when and if he will be fit for fight, and if he will be called up,” she stated.

Sweden have won their first two games in the WC qualifiers and will have six games to play before the end of the year. Ibrahimovic, being a leader of the group, wants to be there and prove that he still can make a difference.

Milan are hoping that the 39-year-old will be back in time for the season opener towards the end of August, but nothing is certain just yet. Therefore, as was seen already last time he joined the national team, it might not go down well with the fans.
