AC Milan

“I don’t want to talk about it”

Alexis Saelemaekers is one of the most improved players at AC Milan in the past couple of years and can be considered one of the symbols of Elliott’s project at the club.

The Belgian spoke in a long interview with Tuttosport which we reported you a large part of earlier today. The 22-year-old Belgian spoke about the upcoming Champions League campaign, his growth but also the impact of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud at the club.

In another part of the interview, however, Saelemaekers spoke about the departures of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, who left Milan at the end of June after their contracts at the San Siro expired.

While the young goalkeeper joined Paris Saint-Germain after a stellar performance for Italy at the European Championship, Calhanoglu made a move to cross-city rivals Inter Milan, which caused a lot of controversy among the fans. This is how the attacker addressed the issue:

“Their choices. Nothing changes for me. I’m at Milan and I focus on the team. I don’t want to talk about it,” he told the Turin-based paper (via Milannews.it).

Surely a somewhat strict manner to approach a very sensitive topic, with Alexis seemingly having some hard feelings towards the outgoing duo.
