Ex-Juventus striker says Leao renewal at €7m ‘would be a bargain’ for Milan

Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli has said that renewing Rafael Leao’s contract for €7 million a season would be a bargain for AC Milan.

Speaking during an interview with Pressing (via Milan News), Ravanelli showed how highly he rates Milan’s Leao when he suggested that they should absolutely be offering him the salary that he has asked for.

The Portuguese forward wants to renew with a salary of €7 million but as it stands, Milan have not shown a willingness to offer that figure as it is much higher than anyone else’s wage in the squad.

Ravanelli went as far as to say it would be a bargain for Milan to renew his deal at that price: “Leao asks for €7 million to renew? €7 million is absolutely worth it. It would be a bargain for Milan to renew the Portuguese’s contract at this amount. If the request is this, Milan should sign him immediately, he is a crucial player for the Rossoneri.”

Leao has swiftly become the best player in Serie A and one of the best forwards in Europe, but his current contract is set to run out at the end of next season, meaning Milan risk losing him for free or for a figure much lower than what he is really worth.
