Dimvula’s words reassure but Milan hope Leao will not follow Kessie’s lead

The AC Milan fans and management are hoping that the Rafael Leao renewal situation will not end up echoing that of Franck Kessie’s last year.

MilanNews recall that Ted Dimvula – a lawyer who looks after the interests of Rafael Leao – decided to give an update on where things stand with Leao’s renewal after countless newspaper stories and in particular one from La Gazzetta dello Sport that even caused Milan to officially respond.

“There are so many false and misleading information about Rafael Leao, mainly in the Italian press. This has only one purpose: to paralyze the cordial and professional dialogue that we have with the AC Milan management regarding the extension of Rafael’s contract,” he told Fabrizio Romano and Sky.

“We are currently working together to find a solution that satisfies all parties. The player’s priority hasn’t changed: he wants to stay at Milan and continue to grow and progress in this club and in this city he loves so much.”

These statements once again confirm Leao’s firm will to stay with the Rossoneri and continue his development, and while they have of course been well received by the fan base, many cannot forget what happened with Franck Kessie.

The Ivorian spoke at the Olympics where he was representing his country and attempted to put to bed any rumours of him leaving on a free.

“I’m proud to have chosen Milan and it’s not my intention to leave. On the contrary, I want to stay forever. Now the Games, but when I come back from the Olympics I’ll fix everything,” he said.

These words unfortunately didn’t turn into deeds given that Kessie went to Barcelona for nothing, and that wound is still open for many supporters who do not wish to see the same thing happen again.
