AC Milan could well have secured themselves a bargain in the signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan) takes a look at the defender market and in particular how it relates to Milan’s purchase of Tomori earlier this summer in a €20m deal.
For example, PSG paid a whopping €68m to Inter to sign right-back Achraf Hakimi which is the most expensive defensive signing of the summer. RB Leipzig have made over €80m in sales as Dayot Upamecano went to Bayern Munich for €42.5m and Ibrahima Konaté joined Liverpool for €40m.
Raphaël Varane will start a new adventure in England having moved from Real Madrid to Manchester United for €50m, while the same can be said for Sergio Ramos as he has left Los Blancos for PSG, signing a two-year deal worth €15m net per season.
With all the aforementioned, it seems that paying €28m for Tomori after a fantastic half season in Italy seems like it could be well below his true market value, especially if he continues to show off his abilities.
