CM: Tomori-Kalulu and a signal for the future

AC Milan have been boosted in recent weeks by the strength of their defence and in particular the duo of Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu.

As report, Milan know that a point in Reggio-Emilia is enough to celebrate their 19th Scudetto and while Rafael Leao has been the face of the attack for a couple of months at least, it is the Kalulu-Tomori duo at the centre of the defence that are a big reason behind the recent run.

The Englishman has been the pivot of the Rossoneri project while the Frenchman has probably been the revelation of the season, having stepped up brilliantly in the absence of Simon Kjaer, even displacing club captain Alessio Romagnoli.

The numbers of the last 10 Serie A games tell a story: only two goals conceded (against Lazio and Verona) and eight clean sheets collected. That means Milan are the joint-best defence in the league having conceded 31 goals all season, and that sends an important signal also in view of next season.

Maldini and Massara are expected to sign Sven Botman to bolster the department and replace Romagnoli, while Kjaer should be back fully after injury. With the league, Champions League and the Coppa Italia to contest next season, having Tomori, Kalulu, Botman, Kjaer and Gabbia is a strong group.
