The early signs from Charles De Ketelaere are very positive and there seems to be no doubts about his position at AC Milan, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato.com, head coach Stefano Pioli already knows that the starting role for the Belgian is as the central attacking midfielder in Pioli’s 4-2-3-1. After good signs in the 6-1 win over Vicenza, De Ketelaere played against Pergolettese at Milanello on Sunday and showed off his entire repertoire, scoring with a penalty, a left-footed shot and a header.
Paolo Maldini has always been convinced that De Ketelaere was the right man and he never gave up on signing him. Whether it is 4-2-3-1 system or a 4-3-1-2 – which the report claims is a first alternative – the idea is that the Belgian will be the link between midfield and attack, providing end product himself too.
There is just five days until Milan kick off the 2022-23 season against Udinese at San Siro and it is likely that De Ketelaere will start, with Saelemaekers on the right side and Leao on the other.
