Cardinale believes link between Milan and fashion must be exploited

AC Milan’s new owners RedBird Capital are looking to exploit the potential of the club and the city to become an even more fashionable brand.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) report that RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale is not only aiming for competitiveness on the field but is also looking to make strides off the field. The centrality of the stadium project and the ability of the club to gather investors through sponsorships and commercial partnerships is a big part of the potential.

Cardinale also believes that there is a link between Milan and fashion which is to be exploited too. The feeling is that fashion and lifestyle could become strategic sectors for the Rossoneri, with collaborations or sponsorship opportunities with major Italian brands certainly on the agenda.

Milan have been releasing ‘capsule’ collections and PUMA have already linked up with Nemen (the fourth shirt last season) and other brands, but with RedBird in command, Milan will also be able to expand in the field of fashion.
