Calabria to miss at least two games as scan confirms adductor problem

Davide Calabria will be forced to sit out the next couple of matches after the underwent a scan on his adductor today following the game against Napoli last night.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s latest for Pazzi Di Fanta, after leaving the pitch early in Sunday night’s match against Napoli the Milan captain underwent an MRI scan to understand the extent of the muscle issue.

It showed an edema of the left short adductor muscle which will force Calabria to miss Milan’s next two matches. The right-back will therefore be unavailable both on Thursday in the first leg of the Europa League play-off against Rennes, and on Sunday against Monza.

His condition will be re-evaluated next Monday, but it does at least seem that Calabria has avoided a serious muscle problem like the ones that struck down Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori.

Speaking of Thiaw, the positive news is that he and Mattia Caldara did the entire training session with the rest of the squad this morning without problems.

For everyone else who played yesterday, it was a day of light work before preparation ramps up tomorrow in view of the Europa League game.
