Bennacer sets Spurs target as scan shows minor hamstring tear

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will be without midfielder Ismael Bennacer for at least the next couple of games after he sustained a muscle injury, a report claims.

According to a report from MilanNews, the MRI done on the hamstring of Bennacer’s left leg revealed a minor muscle tear, and the midfielder will be checked again next week to see how the muscle is healing.

The report adds that Bennacer aims to return against Tottenham in the Champions League on 14 February, which is when the Rossoneri will play the first leg of their last 16 tie at San Siro against the Premier League side, hoping to take an advantage back to north London.

Milan’s hope is that Bennacer can recover for that match but that means that the Algerian will miss the upcoming games against Inter and Torino which will take place on Sunday and next Friday respectively.
