AC Milan got the result that they needed to be crowned league winners as they beat Sassuolo 3-0 at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday evening.

The Rossoneri only needed a draw to earn a 19th league title in their history but in the end they romped home, with a brace from Olivier Giroud and a goal from Franck Kessie before half-time enough to put the result to bed. The Rossoneri’s number 9 also became the third Frenchman to reach double figures in a single Serie A season with AC Milan, after Jean-Pierre Papin (13 in 1992-93) and Jérémy Ménez (16 in 2014-15).

➤ After having scored his first five Serie A goals at home, Olivier Giroud has scored his last six Serie A goals away from home.

➤ Rafael Leão has been involved in at least one goal in his last six league games: three goals and five assists for the Portuguese winger during that period.
