Junior Messias joined AC Milan on an initial loan deal ahead of this past season and the Rossoneri have now confirmed the permanence of the winger. The latter has signed a deal until 2024 with the club.
Messias was brought in on the final day of the transfer market last summer and it came as a surprise to many. While he wasn’t a huge success, he managed to find the back of the net six times and had his moments.
After a lot of rumours in the last few weeks, mainly regarding the price tag of the redemption, Milan have now announced the permanent signing of Messias. The Brazilian has signed a contract until 2024 with the club.
“AC Milan is delighted to announce that Walter Messias Junior has joined the Club on a permanent basis from Crotone FC. The Brazilian forward has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2024,” the statement read.
The latest rumours suggested that Milan wanted to buy him at €4.5m total, but it’s possible they managed to get yet another discount given the delay of the announcement (compared to the likes of Alessandro Florenzi and Antonio Mirante).
