AC Milan announce Colombo has signed for Serie B side SPAL on loan

Lorenzo Colombo wasn’t included in Milan’s squad for tonight’s friendly against Nice and immediately, news broke of a loan move to SPAL. Now, the Rossoneri have officially announced the youngster’s departure.

Colombo spent the second half of last season on loan at Cremonese and Milan decided that a loan move would do him well for this upcoming season as well. On their official website, they published a statement on the matter.

“AC Milan can announce an agreement with SPAL for a deal to send Lorenzo Colombo out on loan. The Club wishes Lorenzo all the best for the upcoming season,” it read.

The 19-year-old has impressed the Rossoneri management and they believe a lot in him for the future, but there’s no doubt that he needs more experience. Hopefully, this loan move will be exactly what the striker needs to grow.

Certainly, it wouldn’t have been positive to spend most of next season on the bench for Milan. It only made sense to send Colombo out on loan, therefore, and we have to wish him the best of luck for the upcoming season.
