Tottenham hold Aaron Ramsey talks and Aston Villa launch Leon Bailey transfer bid

The transfer window is in full swing with big hitters Manchester United completing a £73million transfer for Jadon Sancho. They’ve followed that up by agreeing a deal with Real Madrid for Raphael Varane.

Tottenham and Arsenal have also been busy this summer, completing two transfers apiece.

Spurs have added shot-stopper Pierluigi Gollini on loan and have brought in Bryan Gil in a deal that saw Erik Lamela head in the other direction.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have brought in two prospect players in Nuno Tavares from Benfica and Albert Sami Lokonga from Anderlecht.

But they’re not the only clubs busy this summer, here’s a round up of the latest transfer rumours below…

Tottenham hold Ramsey talks

Aaron Ramsey's future at Juventus is up in the air.
Aaron Ramsey’s future at Juventus is up in the air.

Strap in for this one. According to Spanish publication SPORT, Barcelona are trying to speed along ‘Operation Exit’ in their bid to clear some of their player wages.

One of the players involved in this is Miralem Pjanic. The Bosnian has struggled for game time at the Nou Camp under Ronald Koeman and is keen for a return to Juventus, where he enjoyed much success.

However, The Old Lady have requested they get the necessary time to move on fellow midfielder Aaron Ramsey. This is where SPORT claim talks with both Tottenham and Wolves are ongoing.

Whether Ramsey would move to the bitter and loathed rivals of his former club is another question altogether.

Aston Villa launch Bailey bid

Leon Bailey has often been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in the past but it seems like his Premier League move may come thanks to Aston Villa.

The Jamaica international has impressed for Bayer Leverkusen over the past four seasons, scoring 15 goals and setting up a further 11 last term alone.

And according to Sky Germany, his time at the Bundesliga side is up and he will likely leave this summer.

His current contract runs until 2023 but it seems Aston Villa have lodged a bid for his services. Having already pipped Arsenal to Emi Buendia this could be quite the summer for Villa.

Choudhury wants Newcastle move

Newcastle may be in luck as Leicester City midifielder Hamza Choudhury is ready to push for a loan move to St James’ Park.

That is according to The Northern Echo, who state he is keen to increase his chances of regular first team football.

The 23-year-old managed only 10 Premier League appearances last season as the Foxes secured FA Cup glory.

Newcastle are still awaiting a decision over Joe Willock after he impressed on loan from Arsenal last season. But with two domestic loans allowed, even if they bring the 21-year-old back it is likely they will try for another midfielder given their limited options in that department.

Choudhury would fall into that category.
