LEON GORETZKA has dashed Man United’s hopes luring him to Old Trafford with Bayern Munich sealing a new deal with the star.
The midfielder, who was a Real Madrid target, has signed a new five-year contract to stay with the German champions until 2026.

Goal reports the Bundesliga club’s deal with the Germany international to be worth between £10million and £12.8m a year.
And the move ends rumours linking the former Schalke star, 26, with a Red Devils switch on a free, with his previous deal due to expire at the end of this season.
Of his new deal, Goretzka said: “I am very happy that I was able to extend my contract early until 2026.
“We have won everything there is to be won over the past three years.
“But it is even nicer than winning a title to confirm and repeat these successes. We want to build on this in the next few years.
“The team, the club and the environment are not only highly professional but also familiar. This mixture is one of the guarantors of the success of this club.
Bayern Chief Executive Oliver Kahn said: This contract extension is a sign from Leon that he is convinced that we will continue to be as successful at FC Bayern in the future as we were in the past.
“It is crucial for the development of FC Bayern that we keep our top performers in the long term.
“To be successful as a club, we need players who are permanently motivated – and Leon Goretzka doesn’t have to be told about motivation.
Goretzka, whose team will play VfL Bochum next, has won three Bundesliga titles and a Champions League with Bayern since moving to the club from Schalke in July 2018.
United are reported to have been on the hunt for a central midfielder this summer.
It is thought the player’s talks with Bayern had stalled due to Old Trafford interest in the star.
This Goretzka provided two assists in Germany’s 6-0 trouncing of Armenia in a World Cup qualifier.
And the player notched up five top-flight goals and six assists for Bayern last term helping the club to win their 31st Bundesliga title.
