Premier League target Erling Haaland has developed a colourful reputation over the course of his career, with even the Norwegian’s diet attracting plenty of attention.

The Borussia Dortmund man has insisted he won’t be rushed into a decision over his future, with Manchester Unitedbelieved to be out of the running but a number of other clubs still in the mix.

While Haaland is holding back when it comes to discussing his preferred destination if and when he leaves his current employers, he has been far happier to talk about what he enjoys eating and drinking.

International colleague Joshua King recently revealed the 21-year-old “eats like a bear,” having spent time with the English-born player within the Norway national setup, and Haaland himself has told reporters about his favourite food and drink.

“He’s just a freak. I’ve never ever seen anyone eat as much as he does,” King said on Ben Foster’s ‘The Cycling GK’ podcast late last year.

“He’s bulking up. Yeah, he’s shredded but I don’t know, he just eats like a bear.”

However, while bears will often be seen enjoying a fish-heavy diet, Haaland’s preferences are a little lower down on the healthy scale.

“I really like kebab, I love it,” Haaland said in a Sky interview.

“That doesn’t mean I eat it all the time. I eat it a couple of times a year when I’m in my hometown – I almost never eat it but it’s still my favourite food.”

As for his favourite drink? “I think I have to say pina colada,” the Norwegian said with a smile.

Haaland has scored 80 goals in 79 games since moving to Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg, prompting interest from Premier League clubs as well as some of the biggest names on the continent.

His current deal in Germany runs until the summer of 2024, but sporting director Michael Zorc spoke in December about the conditions which might see the striker allowed to leave.

“Both Erling and the club are dealing with the issue very professionally. We’ll see how things progress,” Zorc said, amid reports of a £75m release clause.

“There is, despite the pandemic, no economic need to sell him. That is also a fact. We will sit down and see how the talks go.”

Haaland spoke again about his future in an interview released this week, following earlier comments suggesting he was being pushed to make a decision by Dortmund.

“I don’t really want to say too much about it [his previous remarks], but I felt it was time for me to say something,” he said.

“A lot of others were speaking – so that was it. Now, I don’t want to say too much. I said what I said, and now we move on.”
