Robert Lewandowski has assured Barcelona fans that the club will win trophies again this season after going one campaign without celebrating a single title.
The Poland international joined the Blaugrana from Bayern Munich this summer in the club’s bid to strengthen their squad despite their financial issues.
“When I got the first information that Barcelona were interested to bring me to the club, from the beginning I knew that it was the perfect timing for me and for the club,” Lewandowski said in an interview with LaLiga World.
“I didn’t want to play my whole life in one league. In the Bundesliga I was feeling nice, but I knew that it’s the right time to move to LaLiga and take this next step in my career.
“I know that this is the perfect moment for me and it’s a huge challenge for me as well, but I am ready for this.
“For me it was always a dream to play in LaLiga and now I’m here at Barcelona so I am very happy.
“I am very glad to be here and we are looking forward for this new season.
“For sure that will be a very exciting season for us. Also, it will be some kind of season that in the end all the fans of Barcelona are going to be very happy.
“I think that it a long period without titles for Barcelona and I think that this is the perfect moment to win some titles. I am pretty sure that this is what we will do.”
