Arsenal transfer round-up: Martin Odegaard ‘makes decision’ on future move


Arsenal have not had the season they would’ve hoped for and failing to qualify for Europe could hamper their transfer activity.

The Gunners added several new faces in the summer but Mikel Arteta is in the midst of a major overhaul.

Their struggles this term have underlined the deficiencies in their squad which will need addressing.

Martin Odegaard’s mid-season arrival has been a huge positive, but it remains to be seen whether they can keep the loanee.

Arsenal’s recent drop off means they can no longer battle in the market with some of their rivals so they have to eye different targets.

Odegaard eyes Prem stay

Odegaard is set to exit Real Madrid at the end of the season and wants to remain in the Premier League, reports 90min .

The Norwegian arrived at Arsenal in January on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Odegaard struggled for opportunities under Zinedine Zidane and may be forced to seek pastures new.

There is no guarantee that he will remain at the Emirates however with the Gunners potentially missing out on European football.

Aguero and Arsenal “a good fit”

Sergio Aguero has been told that Arsenal’s style of play would suit him as he eyes his next club.

The Manchester City forward will end a decade at the Etihad this summer.

Arsenal would certainly welcome a player of his quality and former star Gael Clichy believes he and the Gunners would be a good fit.

He told Stadium Astro : “Well, I think after City, the club that would suit him the best in terms of play, I would say Arsenal is a good fit.

“They play good football, the strikers get nice opportunities, but I really doubt he will go there and I am pretty sure he will move on and go back to Spain or something like this.”

Dortmund youngster eyed

Borussia Dortmund youngster Dan-Axel Zagadou is on Arsenal’s radar this summer, according to The Transfer Window podcast.

The Frenchman moved to the Bundesliga side from PSG in 2017.

He is equally capable of playing left-back and centre-half making him a big plus for Arteta.

Kieran Tierney has been injury prone since his move to the Emirates so they make seek Zagadou as a back-up.
