CM: Milan interested in joining Juventus with second team project

An interesting meeting was held yesterday at the Allianz Stadium in Turin regarding the development of Italian football and in particular the idea of a ‘second team project’, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report how Juventus are currently the only Italian team who have a second team playing in professional leagues (Juventus Next Gen) but in the near future more clubs could follow their lead, with Milan among them.

The words of the president of Lega Serie A – Lorenzo Casini – firstly suggested the idea that Juve might be joined by other rivals: “There are already three or four teams ready under different conditions.”

Among these is Milan and this was confirmed by the fact that Ricky Massara was at the event as the sporting director of the Rossoneri and a man who has always been very attentive to young players and their development.

The development of youth would be the exact motivation behind such a project and there are many who could take advantage of playing in a second team. Marko Lazetic may be too far along in his path but Omoregbe, El Hilali, Coubis, Pseftis, Chaka Traoré, Alesi, Bozzolan and Gala could all benefit playing against adult sides.

There are players like Marco Nasti and Emil Roback who are currently not experiencing the best loan spells at Cosenza and FC Nordsjælland respectively, so with a second team Milan could keep control and ensure their young talents play and test themselves in a senior environment.
