Villarreal vs Real Madrid confirmed line-ups: Bale starts after 167 days

Villarreal and Real Madrid both head into their fixture without their main goalscorers, yet there has been a surprise selection for the visitors with Carlo Ancelotti turning to Gareth Bale, 167 days after his last start.

Bale hadn’t represented Los Blancos since August 28, but he will be given the chance to show his worth in a key LaLiga Santander fixture ahead of the Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain.

Unai Emery, on the other hand, is without Gerard Moreno and has had to shuffle the pack accordingly to make up for the loss in goals that the Spaniard brings.

Villarreal starting XI: Rulli, Foyth, Albiol, Torres, Pedraza, Parejo, Capoue, Lo Celso, Moreno, Chukwueze, Danjuma

Real Madrid starting XI: Courtois, Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Valverde, Bale, Asensio, Vinicius Jr
